No flames here, but don't call Jazzmatazz Hip-Hop, it insults the genre.
The jazzy experiments in hiphop IMHO happened with the first two Gangstarr
releases and Tribe's Second Album. I don't know, three years ago. Kind of
something that happened concurently with the Acid Jazz thing in Europe.

Hip-Hop is not a dying art. It is still growing and new sounds appear each
year. I mean some of the Wu-Tang stuff, Method Man and the Ol' Dirty
Bastard are innovative new sounds - abstract beats, sounds that are often
more out there and interesting than the "intelligent" Trip-Hop sound.

Sometimes I feel like Acid Jazz is going nowhere... but then I find some
new track or album or artist that makes me remember what music is all about
- feeling good.

Summary: It's all music. It's all good (most of it :) ) No matter what's
it

called.

Thanks for the ears-

Tim from Buffalo
