Yes, yes, yes! It's especially great to see what folks like DJ Food
do with the format (i.e., "Fungle Junk", which snags that excellent
near-Parliament organ line (which I can't name right now because I'm
listening to No Trend's "When Death Won't Solve Your Problem" and it's
not letting any other songs into my head)). And I'm especially glad
to see the ruffneck bit fading locally (local = Pittsburgh) as I'm
tired of suburban white kids trying to come off as Jamaican toasters.

In case anyone was wondering, the Final Comedown came off pretty well.
We're still waiting on final figures (which will determine if it's
going to happen again any time soon), but there were lots of people,
a nice (and unfortunately unusual) mix of techno kids and hip hop heads,
good sets from all concerned (I ended up missing most of Spooky's set,
but did catch most of Bedouin's -- lots of rare dub I've never heard
before; mighty fine), and no major problems. Tentative plans for the
next one include DJ Olive (from Liminal, who have an intriguing soundtrack
for the film "Nosferatu" out on Knitting Factory), and maybe more live
musicians (i.e., people with instruments; the one group scheduled to
play got bumped due to power problems). Dunno about the all-night part,
though -- think I/we might be too old for that any more.
