Yowsa!

This is the follow up to the very successful and highly praised (on
this list anyway) album - The Sound Gallery. If you dug the 1st one
then get this;

Get Carter - Roy Budd
Love is a 4 letter word -
Getting Nowhere -
Plaything -
Grow your own - The John Shroeder orchestra
A touch of Velvet - The city of wesminster band
stiletto - chico ray & the jet band
heavy water - ray davies & his funky trumpet
hurry to me - Roy Budd
Speakin' of spoken - The lovin spoonful
super shine No. 9 - sister goose & the ducklings
headband - John Shroeder
the loner - milton hunter orchestra
busy boy - ted hicks
birds - The Tony Hatch Orchestra
Mach 1 - Ray Davies & his funky trumpet
2001 - the cecil holmes soulful sound
pegasus - mike vickers
Hot Wheels - Badder than evil
Split level - The city of westminster string band
(please excuse the random use of capitals above)

Most of the tunes here are from the vaults of Pye Recordings and are
compiled by curators Patrick Whitaker & Martin Green. Its more on the
easy listening or mood music/elevator side of things and I don't mean
that to sound any way derogatory - I think it rocks! There are some
seriously funky tunes in here - heavy on the hammond, big horn type
sound with plenty of wah.

There's also a bit of nostalgia in there too in the form of the theme
from Catweezle (track 14 - 1970). (This proved to be seriosly fkn
frustrating to figure out but bonus points go to my man Jonathan for
remembering it was William Harton - the 1st Doctor Who kids - who
played the lead part in this disturbing childrens programme!!!!)

Anyway its a good buy....

later
Gerry.
