I recently purchased a compilation called "Delicious Doughnuts", one of
the better ones to come out this year so far. It's on Timbre/99 and I
assume that a DJ/band collective based in Berlin called Delicious
Doughnuts is behind it. It features tracks from DJs mostly, as well as
some bands. The tracks span various musical styles, from
brazilian-flavoured ("Sambucca", "Futile Allusions") to jazz-tinged
("Groove Ya'") to beat-oriented ("Let It Ride", "The Preacher's Theme").
Overall, a good, solid compilation from Germany.

Also check out the "Macro Dub Infection" on Virgin, a triple-lp comp
featuring Tricky, Wagon Christ, Mad Prof, Bandulu, Earthling, Automaton,
Tortoise, Bedouin Ascent and others. A very good collection of songs
focusing on dubby, slower rpms.

Last, I purchased a 1994 cd by Fila Brazillia called "Old Codes, New Chaos".
Nothing really like their recent maxi, mostly on the electronic, dancier
side of things. Haven't listened to it much though, I might grow to like
it.
Jazz On,
Alexees.
Harmonicas Are Shite! :)
