Forgive the ramble which will inevitably follow, but it's late & I have a big
day ahead :) ...

"The First Question Award" is the one I have, and it is indeed the only
full-length release of the batch. "Raise Your Hand Together", "The Sun is My
Enemy", "Perfect Rainbow", and "(You Can't Always Get) What You Want" are all
tracks on the "F.Q.A." album, and they appear to be all singles as shown above.
I have no idea what other tracks might be included on the singles, but I'm dying
to find out sometime soon. I highly recommend "The First Question Award" - it's
one of my _favorite_ purchases of the last year, and that would put it up
against hundreds of others. Cornelius is an awesome producer, and has a mastery
of seemingly endless styles, whether it's latin-flavored-acid-jazzy pop, a
sixties-flavored ode to Herb Alpert, a guitar-heavy r&r track, or a
seventies-style disco-fied extravaganza, complete with all the bells and
whistles. These things were hinted at when he was a member of Flipper's Guitar,
but this album represents the fruition. For the record, "(You Can't Always Get)
What You Want" is _not_ the Stones tune - just a borrowed title. I say go out
and buy it, but of course one always has to qualify things a bit due to the
higher price of most Japanese CDs. As I said, however, I find it to be a
wonderful release - and I have three or four friends with varying taste who all
agree. Life is too short to pass this one up...

I have "I am a Kitten" as well, and I love it. I would recommend Momus' recent
full-length release too - "The Philosophy of Momus" - on the UK Cherry Red
label. He has a web site at http://www.demon.co.uk:80/momus/ .

And this might be slightly off-topic, but with all this talk of the Japanese
Trattoria label, I have to mention that my friends from Minneapolis, The
Legendary Jim Ruiz Group, have a new CD out on Polystar in Japan right now
called "Oh Brother Where Art Thou", which will be reissued very soon on
Trattoria, which is a subsidiary of Polystar. (Go figure!) They'll be flying to
Japan in mid-December to play in a Trattoria showcase concert, along with
Cornelius and some of their other new Japanese label-mates. Wow!
