We just took the interview and photos today for an upcoming DJ Krush
feature unlike anything ever published (trust me here): much discussion
of early Krush work unknown in the west, the scene in Tokyo as it existed
circa "Wild Style" and his views on the current Hip-Hop scenes here and in
the west through discussion of his recent work. Though discussion of his
new album "Meiso," is minimal, we've arranged with the publishers of a
certain local magazine to adapt part of an interview of theirs which
contained more concentrated coverage of this album, to our interview
making this the most complete Krush interview _ever_!

On a side note:
I was very impressed with his personality. I had heard that he was a bit
of a punk in his early years (indeed this came up quite a bit in the interview)
and was unsure of what to expect from him, but to see him and our writer
Egaitsu interact was really enlightening. He strikes me as being a very
"good guy," though I hear that has a bit of a short temper. S'funny how the
face changes when the camera starts clicking, though... suddenly physically
transforming into Ice-T...

BTW, his manager is going to send me a copy of the complete unreleased
promo videos for "Meiso." The video covers three tracks, "Only the Strong
Survive," featuring Pete Rock, the 13 minute "Duality" with Shadow, and
"What's Behind Darkness" and spans 20 minutes. She will also be also be
sending tapes from "TOKYO DEEP," a show that his management company is
producing for NHK. This show is hosted by Monday Michiru and contains
interviews with Krush, Audio Active, Lamp Eye (a rap group whose impressive
lead rapper Rino, Krush says, may be appearing on his 4th album), and other
leaders in the local avant-garde club music scenes.

Folks interested in a copy of a tape with "juicy bits" are welcome to
write and I'll see if I can't figure a way to copy and distribute.
Obviously I won't charge for this, but I may ask that interested
parties somehow make up for the shipping and cost of the tape.

Thanks,
-b

Krush sends his regards, and "mata asobimashou" >Rob J
