Their part-time vocalist is a woman named Ledisi. She also fronts her own
SF band, called Anibade (pronounced sort of like "anybody").

True, just about all their Ubiquity compilation tracks were instrumentals,
but then they only really scratch the surface of the real Slide 5!

And, can anybody confirm this, but at least for Ubiquity, their
compilations aren't just "a bunch of tracks slapped together," but it
seems that they actually have real recording sessions dedicated to the
comp; one example seemed to be "Still Cookin'" where much of the music
revolved around the presence of Jacko Peake and members of Slide Five
here and there (Charlie Hunter even plays bass on one tune). Only the
non-SF acts (Seattle's Sharpshooters and L.A.'s Ping Pong) were 'slapped on'.
