He (KG) used to play with a group called Jeff Lorber Fusion in the early
80's. The first few albums by this group were not bad (if my memory is
right, it's been awhile), although I heard they were better live. I never
saw them, but was told by a student at Berkley School of Music in Boston
that they had an incredibly tight rhythm section. Maybe this is what you
heard on the radio, since I don't know that he had any solo albums before
dropping his last name.
