My first experience was when I first came to Uni, and the girl who lived
opposite me in hall was producing some wicked sounds on her stereo - so
after an investigation I found out about BNH (yeah, I know they're a
corny first group, but there you go) and Galliano. I was already a big
jazz fan, so this was a perfect way to progress (digress?), and from
there on in, I took myself to various record stores and gradually picked
up stuff along the way (with by no means a small contribution from this
list!) until I became sufficiently competent (though I don't claim to be
an expert, just an enthusiastic follower of genres) to run a radio show
to help enlighten those not yet bitten by the bug. So there you go.
