Here in New York this weekend, and thanks to the lovely meeting place that
our very own a-j list has become, I will be using DJ Qool Marv (from this
list)'s qool sqills at the turntable for my next Acid Jazz Night! It's
happening this Saturday, Jan. 20 at the Cooler. We're already getting great
press for this event in this week's TimeOut and the Village Voice...So if
you're in town please come down and say hi to us both.

The night will be a "Record Release Party" for my new CD: Inviolate's *The
EP*. Opening up will be G-Power Brigade (they've got a Charlie Hunter-ish
sound) at 9PM, Bourbon Tabernacle Choir (Retro funk from Canada!) at 10PM,
Girl (an all-girl funk band) at 11PM, and Inviolate at 12Mid. There will
also be giveaways and glamour to be had...all this for $10.

While one track from Inviolate's The EP will be featured on our a-j list's
upcoming CD from James (whenever that will be) the four-song CD containing
our tripped-out cover of Stevie Wonder's "Jesus Children of America" is now
availble in its entirety at several stores here in New York including HMV
East and Eightball or by mail order from us at: Inviolate Recordings, 290
Riverside Dr., Suite 2D, New York, NY 10025 -- please send $9.99US +$2
postage.

I'd appreciate any comments on the event or the CD afterwards -- just post
the list or me directly with your thoughts/critiques at:

Keeping funk alive,
Victor E. from Inviolate

P.S. My February event is around the corner: featuring our a-j list's very
own Belizbeha from Vermont and Brooklyn Funk Essentials, at the Knitting
Factory 2/16. Where were those other DJs who contacted me about wanting to
take part in my shows? Please keep in touch...
