When I say funny (when it comes to Easy E), it's a kind of a disturbing
funny... The man was a real homophobe (and I'm not talking about
politics, from his words you can tell it was some sort of physical
reaction) and a bastard. In one song, I vaguely remember (as the lyrics
go) that he's robbing a bank "stealing all your mother fucker's money,"
he takes a teller in the back to rape her but finds out he is a she and
then shoots his dick off. It makes you step back and say "damn, did that
man just say that?" It's not the concept that is at all funny (it's not),
it's the experience of realizing that some people out there are really
fucked up (like listening to a Pat Buchanan Speech). On the other hand, to
clarify, the DPs don't do anything emotionally affecting with their music...
