Had a very good evening last night. It was the afterparty from the =
Metropolis festival in Rotterdam. After a great gig in the afternoon at =
the festival they played a brilliant set in a club. Krush and Black =
Tought were trying to imitate each other, worked out very very fine. =
First the drummer of the Roots warmed us up with some old skool hiphop =
records. When I was standing in the crowd I saw the singing lady of =
Sneaker Pimps standing besides me. I saw her show that morning which was =
a very good way to wake up on a sunday morning. I talked a bit with her =
and we were both enjoying the Roots very much. Especially when the =
bassist gave a solo which lasted almost ten minutes.
Afterwards Ken Ishi took over with his techno and the Roots were =
standing stoned as hell in the public. Just imagine that giant drummer =
with his big Afro standing still, in the middle of a public that was =
going wild on techno. It was a P.A.R.T.Y.!

Ok on with the music. Bought some new and old stuff in London and had a =
great time there. (how was your trip Tyler?) I tried to find the new =
Chris Bowden album. No luck though. At SoulJazz I heard that they are =
remastering it. Anyone got info on that? His 12" is ok. Lazy and moody. =
Bought the Batucada comp on SoulJazz, if you're into heavy latin rythms =
check it out! Also bought the strata east comp on SoulJazz. This is my =
comp of all times. Gil Scott-Heron, Pharao Sanders etc. also found a =
somewhat older gem. Nuyorica:the nervous track on Nervous records.
Indeed the new 12" by ATCQ is dope. Makes it worth the waiting. Can't =
wait for the album. Also bought a hardcore hiphop 12" by the Rawcotiks. =
Very nice if you go for that style. I was also a bit dissapointed when =
I heard the Automator album and didn't buy it.=20

I also went to the Zoo and saw Tom Cruise (no not there) at the =
premiere of Mission Impossible which is a crap movie and ate at the =
Grain Shop (the best vegetarian food in Europe, on Portobello Road). Yep =
it sure was London. Had a tube strike on wednesday. That is a horror. =
Never ever try to get a bus in the City when it's 6 o'clock and the =
tubes strike. Suddenly english weren't the friendly and polite people I =
know :) Ok goodbye and thank you for reading.
