RELEASE

Belgrade, FR Yugoslavia -- In cooperation with Virgin Records, Backbone=20
Media is pleased to announce the July 16, 1996 concert in Belgrade with=20
the world famous, funky soul group, Massive Attack. The performance=20
will take place at the modern 4400 seat Sava Center. All of the proceeds=20
will be contributed to charities helping people and children affected by=20
the war in the former Yugoslavia. This unprecedented musical event will=20
be the first in a series of benefit concerts organized by Backbone Media=20
of Boston and ITB, London. =20

For the past four years the world has helplessly watched as stories of=20
war and disaster have made their way from people of the former=20
Yugoslavia into our lives. Now that the fighting has ceased, people from=20
this part of the world are coping with the personal and economic=20
consequences. The fragmented soul of this shattered country still lives=20
in its people but those of us whom have not lived it for the past four=20
years can only imagine how the Yugoslav=92s perspective on life has=20
changed. "Massive Attack=92s concert will not change what has happened to=
=20
the former Yugoslavia" says Backbone Media=92s Milan Kovacev, "but we hope=
=20
it can be a plank in the bridge between war and peace."=20

Melody Maker Magazine writes =91Massive Attack=92s music is about love,=20
aimed at that hollow north of the diaphragm, south of the sternum, the=20
whereabouts, we kid ourselves, of the spirit.=92 This concert is aimed=20
squarely at the soul and "spirit" of Belgrade to send a non-verbal,=20
musical message of peace throughout what was once called Yugoslavia.=20
Backbone Media=92s, Stephen Turcotte explains "we wanted to make sure this=
=20
concert was not seen as supporting one side over another, that=92s why we=
=20
are contributing the proceeds equally and plan to conduct future=20
concerts in Bosnia as well."=20

Massive Attack is no stranger to assisting in the peace efforts. They=20
were also involved with the charity compilation "HELP" released by=20
British label Go Discs in September 95. Massive Attack is very popular=20
with the young and mature music culture in the former Yugoslavia.=20

Backbone Media, is music digital media promotion company from Boston, MA=20
with an office in Belgrade. Their team is comprised of a diverse group=20
of music professionals from the US and different republics in the former=20
Yugoslavia. Their mission is to use the power of music and the Internet=20
to promote love and charity in this region of our world. A percentage of=20
the profits from each show will be contributed to charities (i.e. Red=20
Cross, UNICEF, War Child).=20
