Jim Ayson:

I think I've written you before, a little over ayear ago. Greyboy is a
DJ out of San Diego, CA.. He typically spins a variety of samples over
funky hip-hop beats. Jazz, and various other samplings tend to be his
staple, crossing acid-jazz and trip hop. He can be caught spinning quite
a few discs at tthe Green Circle, here in San Diego, a jazz dive,
typically a few nights a week. The Green Circle has been closed for a
number of weeks due to remodeling and he is currently touring in support
of his latest release "Land of the Lost" on Ubiquity. A must hear!

As for the Greyboy All-Stars, this is a band, which records under his
label Greyboy Records in San Diego. They are lead by sax great, Karl
Denson. They share the name "Greyboy" but definitely play all the way
live "groove-jazz." If live instruments are what you seek, you will not
be disappointed. They have a release titled "West Coast Boogaloo" on
Greyboy Records. I can email you distributor info later, since I don't
readily have it available. I recommend you check out the Greyboy
Hompage. I am trying to summate an entire novel in a sentence, and doing
a very poor job! If I can mail you a sample of their songs, both Greyboy
and the Greyboy All-stars, please email me at: jbas@ucsd,edu

Good luck,

jp.
