I recall what a friend of mne once said when I heard him playing some tr*p-h*p.
me: "Is that trip-hop then?"
him: "It doesn't matter what you call it - it's just a dope tune (this from
him is a compliment"

Basically if it sounds good play it. If it doesn't, THEN worry about
terminology.

I always thought Portishead was heavy metal... (only joking)
