I have not used Pro Tools, but I know it's pretty popular among Mac users for
hard disk recording. Being more of a PC person, I am in the process of learning
more about hard disk recording on that platform. This month, EQ Magazine has a
very informative article about hard disk recording on the PC. Last month,
MultiMedia magazine had another article on how to produce a song using a PC.
This month's Electronic Musician magazine has an article on using a Mac or PC to
burn your own CD's. I have read all three articles and they were very
informative. I have also seen lots of discussions regarding hard disk recording
on America Online and in Usenet groups such as rec.audio.pro.

It seems to me like this is the future of recording. However, right now, I
don't have the money to get into the game. For what I'm doing currently
(songwriting), my Dolby S cassette deck suits my needs just fine.
