Ironically, the term garage originated in the US. It stems from the
style of music legendary DJs such as Larry Levan played in the
Paradise Garage (hence the name)
late 70's, early 80's. 90's Garage has evolved into which basically
can be described as soul-house - the elements are still present
melodic bass-line, 4/4 beat, uplifting soulful vocals, dreamy
strings, and boogie. Someone described it as a 'highly derived form
of disco' but a lot of people tend to equate disco with cheese.
Its serious.
