Hi folks,

I went to the legendary HACIENDA (Manchester) last night to this night co-hosted
by Fat City records. The night kicked off with DJ Freakniks doing his
thing (New Beats and old school Hip Hop jams). If you do not know
what time it is, check out his Slow Roll release on Fat City recs.
Then Mark Rae (Scenario recs, also check out Stepp's Slow to Control
release on the same label, trippy Hip-Hop beats: " Collin Millar told me to
do it!!!") took things over, kicking in with some harder beats and
New school Hip Hop jams. My toes started to tingle. But it was'nt
till their Imperial Majesties, Kemistry and Storm came on that things
started "degenerating" into higher things...
Kemistry kicked off with a lot of Metalheadz stuff hard core JUNGLE
(Dillinja, Peshay, some new Goldie). The Hacienda lived up to its
name, the sound was kinda shitty for those who played wallpaper. But,
on the dancefloor!!! You could not escape it, everybody was totally
immersed in the aural experience. The beats breaked and
deconstructed, giving birth to fresh rythmic time patterns.
Dancers had ample space to create and recreate dance steps and body
incantations as they rode the tidal waves and heard the ripples.
When you looked at the floor from above it was like a boiling
simmering stew of bubblers, people communed...
Nobody was taking prisoner's tho'. Jungle was rocking me past
exhaustion, rocking soul soldiers into the next millenium...

(Excuse the ramblings but I just had to say it).
