well.... ive been following this thread with half an eye, so I hope im
not repeting anything here...

IMO the first Jamiroquai record was a killer, at the time. Now it seems
kinda lame and the new stuff is, at least to me, not wery arousing. BUT,
one must give the guy real credit for, as some of you have mentioned,
his excellent influences...

In the last issue of Details magazine ( April 1997) he lists his
essential funk encyclopedia... hrmm.. well... here is the list.. (sorry
for copying out of the mag... well.. sue me if you want :)

Marvin Gaye, I Want You
Roy Ayers, Evolution
Donald Byrd, Places and Spaces
Fatback, Hot Box
Herbie Hancock, Headhunters
Ramsey Lewis, Sun Goddess
Bernard Herrmann, Taxi Driver
Patrice Rushen, Straight From the Heart
Stevie Wonder, Innervisions

well folks, there it is... not so surprising perhaps, but still... great
music altogether... gotta give mr. Kay credit for that :) - And come to
think of it I belevie he does a real good job in trying to modernize
theese kind of sounds, even though it might not appeal to me directly...

well, thats all for now...

A Motown Christmas - various. Ok, its not christmas and ok, I admit its
corny... but still.. its fun...
