Huh? Well if you've never heard his music then how would you know? There
isn't anything ugly or fake about him at all. You're taking the whole
"bitches" thing completely out of context. The song was specifically
about women who are overly materialistic and exploitative, and is not
meant to disprespect anybody else. If you actually bothered to listen to
the song "Da Bichez", you would know this because Jeru makes it very
clear that he highly respects women in general. And even if you still
didn't get it, there's a song on his second album that clarifies it
further. I will concede that he is a homophobe, which I suppose is ugly
but I can deal with it.

Same goes for you. I'm not saying you should like Jeru, but don't base
your opinion on second-hand rumours and misinterpretations.

I thought they were just okay (when they played Toronto)

Chill... he's just encouraging people to have a good time. The thing
about 'already getting paid' is called *humour*.

Correct, it doesn't. More specifically, the songs about rappers who
promote drug dealing, crime, and excessive greed.

Whatever. Last time I saw him was October, and I don't remember his
freestyle word for word. I'm surprized you can...

More humour and fun. I'll bet the person he called out didn't take it as
personally as you seem to be.

of course, he's not talking about the "queens" but

I don't see the parallel.. to me, the term "bitch" was never meant to
apply to all women, so it isn't inherently sexist (though it can be used
in a sexist way if you want to). I've called a few specific women "bitch"
before, but I hold women in general in the highest regard. I've also
called some men "bastard", and that doesn't mean I disrespect men either.

Actually, DJ Shadow was the disappointment for me. At the Toronto show,
he didn't play anything from Endtroducing or Lost and Found (the
only Shadow 12" I have) whatsoever. He just spun some other records which
were okay but nothing remarkable. Maybe you guys got a better show?
