I would guess there's an analogy to that with regard to the music; like a
drink, one requests their jazz
"straight, no chaser," in other words, the real, strong, stuff, and not
washed (or watered) down.
Thus, the "Straight, No Chaser" comp was probably a reference to it
containing the original, real, Blue Note tracks.

I guess.
