uh dude ... grunge is nothing more than what happens when you combine punk
bands like Black Flag, Husker Du, Minutemen, the Melvins, etc. with 70's
stuff like Led Zeppelin .... I wouldn't say any of it was American or
Seattle because to my ears it all sounds like stuff that came before ....
there was nothing at all in it that said "new thang here" like there is
with electronic stuff ....

I think a lot of my preference for British music has to do with culture ...
see in America everyone is encouraged to act the same as someone else ...
it's very cliquish, but when I was little in the UK the attitude was very
much "well, what are you going to do that's different from everyone else?
something's gotta set you apart ...." and I liked that a lot better ....
it made more sense to me ....
