I have been following the Erykah Badu sound-alikes thread with interest and
was just about to mention Ambersunshower too. If I'm not mistaken Straight
No Chaser reviewed this album when it first came out...definitely worth a
listen for the vocals. The jazzy-funky bits on the Erykah B album also
reminded me of Me'Shell Ndege Ocello's sound.

On the subject of people who people who sound like Billie Holliday, I
highly recommend Madeline Peyroux...although not in the AJ vein, she's got
an amazing voice...the album has some trad jazz things, some country,
bluegrass, bits too. Very very cool. Time Magazine hyped her a couple of
months back and she has been a consistent Jazz Top 10 seller in the Tower
Records store where I work.
