Whoever suggested the Brooklyn Funk Essentials album "Cool and Steady
and Easy" made an excellent recommendation! I picked it up yesterday at
a pawn shop for $3.95! I actually listened to this album back in '95
when it came out. I remember liking it then, and I don't know why I
didn't pick it up! I guess I just wasn't ready, then! Anyway! It's an
excellent album! It's a smooth fusion of jazz, funk, R&B, reggae,
hip-hop beats, scratches, rap, spoken word, Latin beats, and probably
bunch of other genres that I haven't named. The highlights are "The
Creator Has a Master Plan", "Big Apple Boogaloo", "Blow Your Brains
Out", and "Mizz Bed-Stuy". Actually, all the tracks are nice!
