tastes like chicken...

what: an experiment in dancefloor-friendly turntablism

when: wednesday, october 15 9pm-2am

where: atlas bar & grill 3760 wilshire bl. los angeles, ca. (just east of
western av.--same building as wiltern theater)

who: legendary los angeles djs (mostly in our own mind) elonzo (the move/
internationalist) & mark farmer (45 vibe/hyperdisc) spinning an 1 1/2 hours
each (elonzo @ 9, farmer @ 10:30). then @ 12 midnight junior roach (jazzid
up!/internationalist), markman (presha crew/onionheadz) & t-bird (jazzid up!/
the move) tagging on 2x4s (2 djs, 4 turntables)--yes, that means 2 guys
playing simultaneously; some of you are familiar w/that, i know, but for
those
who aren't, think of the extra djs as making it extra fonky...

other info: full kitchen/bar, 18+ w/id, $5 cover, info line 310 236 0141. no
dress code, but the venue is beautiful, so look neat (i.e. don't sag, but you

can wear your cap--i'm wearin' mine!!)

musical bag: well, you know how your friends will describe something that's
not really like anything you've had before (e.g. frog legs, rattlesnake meat)
the usually say it "...tastes like chicken." we feel the same way about the
music we'll be playing, it's not quite like anything you've heard before, but

it funks like music you know--we may even play some music you know, but not
the way you're used to hearing it. i know that sounds like hype, but come
and
find out--it's only a fin, and it's for a really good cause (good music)!!

btw, no animals were harmed in the making of this event...
