Deodato

I was involved in that Deodato thread, but only out of curiosity. Since
then I picked up the first two vinyl records at Grooves in SF. They
really are great if not somewhat quirky. The 2001 theme (for which he
won a Grammy) is a sweet piece of funk pie. But then watch out for the
101 strings on Baubles Bangles and Beads and Knights in White Satin.

The records bounce from early disco, to fusion, to avant garde, to
complete cheese -- frequently all with in the same song. There are some
killer rythms and a young stanley clarke plays bass.

In the aforementioned thread, someone was talking about some dance
remixes with different names, or bastardized names. I'd love to find
these.
