When people criticized the new UFO 3rd Perspective LP, some said it
sounded like they hung out in Paris for too long. My opinion on that was
--good for them! And who were they listening to? Obviously the likes of
AIR and BANG BANG. Both acts are certainly not acid-jazz, but they are
both well-orchestrated, lushly conceived downtempto acts. AIR's new ep
compilation, I can't think of the title, brings together earlier releases.
However, anyone who likes the latest release should definitely go hunting
for the original eps with remixes.

Also on the French downtempo thing, I heard word that Kid Loco has a 2XLP
coming out soon. Does anyone have any details? Kid Loco's previous
releases (I have 2 Yellow Prod. 10"s) run from sleezy, spliffed-out
cocktail lounge music to slow break beat. Kid Loco's tracks are similar
in style to the downtempo tracks on Super Discount.
