Those words from "Barumba" are actually in Portuguese.
I don't really know the language, but I can construe the lines a bit.
They're all asking "Where is it that ....blah blah blah?" (that's the part
that I can't figure out ;-)). For instance, the first line seems to be
asking something like "Where is the spirit of the dance alive and (..uh..)
spirited? Barrumba." If I can get to a dictionary, I'll probably be able to
crack it, but maybe somebody else out there who actually knows Portuguese
would save me the trouble (and potential embarassment).
These are the lyrics as reproduced in the liner notes (given that "barumba"
is spelled differently in the title than in the lyrics and the first line
seems a little grammatically suspect, I'm a little worried about the
reliability of the transcription ;-)
