Pimp Jazz-Funk

Hey, everybody...

Anyone ever check out the pimp-blaxploitation-jazz-funk-mod-sounding
soundtrack to the movie "Under Compulsion" from a group by the name of
Uriel? This one's on Beau Monde Records out of France, and its one of the
freshest, funkiest, jazziest sessions--all original compositions. Funky
moog and rhodes, samba and bossa sounds, a tinge of mod/chase sequence type
tracks, some downtempo/chill beats, and some solid all-around
jazz-funk/acid-jazz grooves. The focus here is on the organic groove--i.e.
predominantly instrumental focus.

Anyone ever hear of Uriel putting out any other material than this?

Also--can anyone give me the low-down on the most recent release from The Egg?
Heard the new Groove Collective LP is soon to hit stores.

Dig it...
