Dear Diary:
On a recent Saturday afternoon, I was in the Virgin Megastore in Times
Square and I paused for a moment before taking the escalator downstairs to
look at the giant sign with the store's directory. Alongside me were two
older ladies who were intensely studying the sign, which listed rock,
country, Broadway, etc.
Finally, one of the ladies said to the other, "What kind of music do you
think vinyl is?"
