hi,
...about the Ultimate Breaks & Beats series and the so-called 'Remix'
toons. You're dead right, they're not remixed at all but some tunes do have
a drum beat/break extended or looped more than once to make for easier
sampling or beat matching. This is the case for these cuts which I have
anyway;
"Amen Brother"
Vol 3 - Incredible Bongo Band "Bongo Rock" / Jackie Robinson "Pussy Footer"
Vol 12 - The Soul Searchers "Ashley's Roachclip" / Chicago Gangsters
"Gangster Boogie"
Vol 15 - John Cougar "Jack & Diane" / Pleasure "Bouncy Lady"

I guess this was probably most useful for that original old-skool hip
hop/breakdance thing of mixing 2 copies of the same tune but you just play
the break from each...you know the trick. Anyway some of the breaks from
these songs are a bit short in their original version so the good folk at
streetbeat had the presence of mind to loop the beat once or twice longer
to make it easier to mix 'em, wise move!

check out http://www.dustygroove.com/ultimate.htm if you want to order any
of the volumes, they've got all 25!

Rock-On,
gerry.

ps: why are Vols 7 & 8 no longer available? Was they're somelegal problem
over sampling/reproducing? Does anyone have atracklisting of what tunes
were on these volumes...just curious.
