Soul Coughing's M. Doughty Plans
Reading, New Book, Solo Album

Soul Coughing's M. Doughty is striking out solo with his words. The
lyricist and vocalist, who made people all over L.A. cringe with his
sharp-tongued "Screenwriter's Blues," and crowds across America bob
like Weeble- Wobbles to "Super Bon Bon," will be reading, sans musical
accompaniment, from his poetry chapbook (a self-published or small
publisher collection) titled Slanky. The reading -- his first in more
than a year -- is at the Knitting Factory's Last Word reading series
in New York on July 27 at 10 p.m.

EPIGRAM
Sir, I admit your general rule,
That every poet is a fool,
But you yourself may serve to show it,
That every fool is not a poet.

--Samuel Taylor Coleridge
