Exactly. It doesn't make any sense at all. Firt they give "Dummy" the
prize in '95, then they don't even give "Portishead" a nomination. Is
there a rule that an artist that's won in the past can't be nominated a
second time? That's terrible. Sure, "Dummy" was slightly more
varied than "Portishead", but the latter was twice as affecting. Beth's
voice completely haunts you this time, while it only resonated on "Dummy".
Incidentally, who WAS nominated this year. I must say they've made some
superb choices in the past, especially with "Dummy". I love the M People
album that won. They haven't put anything out that I haven't loved and I'm
still awaiting the US release of "Fresco". If anyone else loves M People as
much as me, please let me know. Also I was very impressed with Roni
Size's win. That was probably the most innovative album of last year.
