latest trip to the record store...

Chocolate Weasle- Music for Body Lockers. (Ninja Tune) Real funky
bassline with crazy London Funk Allstars put the "F" in Funk kinda
sounds bouncing through it.... If you have it and Debbie Deb's "When i
hear music" (from 89'...aarrgh. guido music! =)), overlap it on the
track on side A. It's too funny. and it works!

Venessa Simon- Soothe my Soul. (Congo) I bought it for the drum and bass
mix which is sooo dope. Real jazzy funky guitar with sweet vocals. If
you were to mix this into 4-hero's version of "i am the Black Gold of
the Sun" into anything off of the compilation, Misturada 2 (sp?) what
would you play next? looking for similar vibes in jazzy jungle.....

Doris Days- To urlike M. (Dorado) Lovely downtempo vocal tracks. One mix
with a skeleton of a drum and bass beat in it but slower. cool. very
mellow.

Various- Abstractions Vol.1 (Swerve) a collection of classic spaced out
jazz funk fusion. Lotta dope drum hits and stuff to sample. Guy
Pederson- Pretexte Indicatifs.... David Matthews-Sandworms.. etc. Does
this label have anything else like this? This is a great compilation!

I found a mint condition double LP of Red Hot on Impulse for 6$! :-P

Justice System- Rooftop ....something or other. This record kicks. some
of it not quite up to Groove Collective par but definitely rocks. Anyone
into Groove Collective should check this. The guys out here in Philly i
run with (MILKTOAST) book these guys a lot... Has anyone out there heard
of them? opinions? i don't think i've seen them mentioned...
