YES. don't buy sony. the timecode's all fucked up. it won't match the
timecode on any other machine. fyi, aiwa is made by sony, so bear that in
mind. also make sure the outputs are what you need--can you live with only
a miniplug out, or do you need coax or optical.

unfortunately, sony's about the only thing out there for portables. for a
rack unit, most definitely avoid sony.
