Walkin’ Large consists of the rapper Ono, a South African native who
had to leave
Cape Town for political reasons, an DJ Ara, whose roots are resting in
Eritrea/Ethiopia. The experience of both racial and political harrasment
(apartheid/civil war) at an early age, is reflected in their lyrics
wich combine
african knowledge with the streetwise poetry of urban hip hop
fanatics. The album
presents the missing link between the 3 continents; raised under the
difficult
circumstances of the motherland, pushed into the European climate of
racial prejudice
and infected by the american form of rhymed self-expression.

(They are German-based, and also did a track called when i flow with jeru
the damaja)
