MOTIVATIONAL NOTE:
Everywhere I go to speak (churches, expos, conferences,
colleges
and community events, bookstores) I see the awesome
creativity of
our people. The art, music, clothing, books, fabrics,
poetry, dance
and yes, even the hairstyles. More and more people are
expressing
their inner gifts and embracing the colors, knowledge,
rhythm, spirit,
stories and wisdom of our rich history. As people find
themselves
either dissatisfied or displaced from their jobs, they are
starting their
own businesses.
The marketplace and book shelves are bursting with
our creativity
and culture. Are you tapping into your power and
possibilities? Are
you hiding your light under a bushel? Have you forgotten
how much
experience, talent or skills you have? If you're feeling
dissatisfied or
being displaced in your career, I invite and encourage you
to think
and imagine beyond your comfort zone. Don't put limits on
yourself.
Believe in yourself. Give yourself permission to take your
talents and
dreams off the shelf. It is very fulfilling to bring out
and polish up your
inner gifts. You probably know something or how to do
something
that other people will value. Whether it is singing,
computer
consulting, teaching, writing, healing or designing, get
started.
Just imagine the possibilities. -- Jewel Diamond Taylor,
