It died after the artists who contributed tracks voted on what would be on
the cd.

Having contributed a (not very good) track, it got me thinking about
getting something out on vinyl, and together with Matt Mullen (who sent in
a much better track) Hero No.7 was born. Going back to the aj tape (called
Worldwidegrooves, if I remember correctly), we got in touch with some of
the beat-based artists we quite liked, and so we have about seven or eight
artists on the roster, all of whom I think are on the aj list. dj Colin
Millar (another aj listee, often seen answering obscure questions about
artists and labels :-) ) joined Matt and myself in running the label
recently.
Having had a bad time with our first distributor (usual story of promised
the earth, expected little, got nothing), we're moving to a new distributor
(Under One Sun), who are re-releasing the first single in the next month.
Then we can get on with the job of clearing the backlog that has developed
in the last year (we've got around eight singles we could put out in the
next three months!).

So, while the aj list sampler never happened, it did, in effect, spawn a
label, and with everyone on it on the aj list, you could kinda say that
it's the aj list label :-)

Anyway, enough publicising the label. I hope that answers your question.

Recent Purchases:

Latyrx: I finally got this, on second hand, and whilst I've only listened
to the first disc, I really like it.

Unkle: Guns Blazing with Kool G Rap, and Latyrx providing some vocals in
there somewhere. Well, I really like this track. It was one of my
favourites off the album anyway (which I quite like. It's not
earth-shatteringly good, and it could never live up to the hype - that's
not their fault though - but I think it's quite good.), and I couldn't
leave the offer of an instrumental and an acapella (it might mix over
something).

There's loads of other stuff, but I haven't got round to listening to it
yet! Too many records, not enough time (or money).

laters,

Paul
