Todd, more info about " kickin' salsa " :
TRIBAL GATHERING '96
is on Universe Recordings Technologies.

The Universe Tribal Gathering: The True Story
UNIVERSE, the promoters of Tribal Gathering
were officially founded in 1991 having previously
organised a succession of ever larger illegal
warehouse parties throughout the Southwest
of England in 1989-90. Kicking off with THE
TECHNO TENT party on August 30th '91 near
Bath, Avon, UNIVERSE events immediately
gained wider attention for their ground breaking
innovation, unique spirit and good vibes.
UNIVERSE parties have always been founded
on Respect - having a brilliant night with like-minded ppl
but not at anyone else's expense.

As the word of mouth spread, (and despite the
strict 'No Press' policy enforced at early UNIVERSE
events) the parties grew in size through 'In 2 Orbit,'
'Adventures on the Pleasure Planet,' 'Mind, Body,
Soul and the Universe,' etc. We eventually exploded
onto the International stage with the first
'Tribal Gathering' on April 30th 1993 at Lower Pertwood
Farm, nr. Warminster, Wiltshire (approx. 10 miles
from Stonehenge). Despite an eerie mist descending
on the site 25,000 party ppl congregated from near
and far to celebrate the world's biggest gathering of
dance tribes and the UK and global media united in
declaring TG '93 the best ever party to date !

Here is a sample of some of the tracks on the album:

        (1) JAMES LaVELLE

        (3) MARSHALL JEFFERSON, the man is the sh*t
Chicago-born, Marshall is one of the undisputed
'Godfathers of House.' Having been the first person to
use piano on a house track with 'House Music Anthem'
in 1986 and literally defining a new genre 'Acid House.'
In his various roles; producing raw house to using live
instrumentation and from singing to DJing, Marshall
has played a key part in influencing an entire generation
of party goers and producers alike ( wutever ).
Marshall has obviously been one of the favourites
to play at the Universe parties over the years.
Universe has taken this exclusive opportunity
to capture his turntable talents with this mix of
deep underground house. From labels such as UK's
Atlantic Jazz and Paper Recordings, to the Dutch 'Touche'
and US Z Records, the 13 tracks on his mix are a hand
picked selection of the finest house music of the moment.
This will be Marshall Jefferson's first mix album.

( Actually, I don't know about * that, *
I have this three CD ambient-mix compilation
which Deryck Lee covets cuz his is skratched up.
  It has three genres:
dance, ambient and I think spoken word. )

Salt City Orchestra, The Book
Basement Jaxx, Samba Magic
Ian Pooley, Chord Memory
Alexander Hope, Happy Days
Z Factor, Gotta Keep Pushin
Basement Jaxx, Be Free
Vudu, The Calling
