Caught Robert Walter's 20th Congress on Friday night in Denver and
they put on an excellent show (he's the keyboard player for the
Greyboy Allstars). I didn't recognize anyone in his band, but they
were great - A drummer, a bass player and a saxophone player who
switched to flute every-once-in-awhile. Anyone no who they are? The
sax player often put his sax through some type of effects machine and
it distorted the sound (sounded like guitar). Walter was in top form
and played both the Fender Rhodes and an electric piano. I've never
heard him hit a wrong note. The quartet played a couple of Greyboy
Allstars tunes, some stuff off of Robert Walter's solo LP, a few
covers, and a few new tracks I hadn't heard before. All great electric
jazz and boogaloo and one of the best live bands I've seen in the past
year (along with the Greyboy Allstars & Galactic).

Well worth checking them out if they come to your town.
