Faithless are quite popular here. I've only heard 2 of their songs -
"Insomnia" and "God is a DJ" - but they do absolutely nothing for me. When
I first heard them, I thought the guy's voice sounded like Maxi Jazz. It
did in fact turn out to be him. I don't know if anyone else remembers, but
a few years ago, he used to put out his own hip-hop records. I've got 3
records he did and they're fantastic. His talent seems to be wasted in
this outfit.
Mind you, I did turn on the end of Jools Holland's program the other week
and caught the end of a song Faithless were doing with a big live band and
it sounded pretty good - nothing like the records I've heard.
Sorry that probably doesn't answer your question. I just wanted to get
that off my chest about Maxi Jazz. Anyone else remember his stuff (I think
he also went by the name of "The Grand Oral Disseminator").
