Yup. The original Tranquility Bass records came out on the
Los Angeles-based Exist Dance label. Tom Chasteen and Mike
Kandel ran the label together and produced most of the label's
dozen or so records under various pseudonyms and with combi-
nations of friends. Eventually Mike Kandel left L.A. and
moved to Lopez Island, off the coast of Washington state.
I believe the subsequent Tranquility Bass album was recorded
by him alone.

If you can find it, there's a great Exist Dance compilation
available on CD called TRANSMITTING FROM HEAVEN. Several
years down the pike, it sounds a little "ravey" to me, but
it has three excellent Tranquility Bass tracks and some
other fun stuff.

I saw a "new" Exist Dance 12" in the store recently, but I
don't know if it was an honest-to-god new release, or just
something that was dug up in a warehouse somewhere...
