JB's - Food For Thought

I just picked up a copy of the above mentioned album. I bought it
mailorder and it is supposed to be an original copy. I already own the
original, but I thought this one would be great for swapping with
someone. Anyway, the copy I already had has a red and black cover with
the titles of the songs in different fonts. The copy I just received is
sealed and it has the same cover, but it's purple/silver instead of
red/black. All the details (release number etc) are identical apart from
the colours.

I know there are loads of JB's and James Brown reissues out at the
moment. I wondered if this could be one of them. I own 2 of the JB's
reissues and the covers seem to be identical to the originals. Same
release numbers, not even a bar-code. Can anybody tell me if the reissue
is purple and if there ever was a purple one put out in the 70's (before
or after my red copy).

I know some original 45s/LPs on the People label had red labels and some
had purple. Do the different colours signify anything?

How do you tell the difference between the JBs/James Brown reissues - is
there any particular thing to look out for? Anyone know if the reissues
are released by Polydor, or if they're bootlegs? Obviously, at the end
of the day, the music is the same. But if you're anything like me you'd
much rather own the original copy. Besides, the guy charged me much more
than reissue price for this copy. Hopefully it is an original - the rest
of the records I bought from him were.

Cheers,
Alex

P.S. Check out http://www.bekkoame.or.jp/i/jb-escape/index-e.html. It's
a really great source of information for James Brown stuff (detailed
discographies etc).
