When I first started on this list about a couple of years ago, I was asking
for people that were interested in starting an Acid Jazz/Downtempo Label. I
got few responses back from people that were either doing the same thing, or
were interested. I for one would be interested in getting a CD developed.
Maybe, depending on how a good job we do, we can actually start our own
label for our own music and we can collaborate on our work. Can you get
more information on how you want to propose we do some things for free, its
nice in theory and all, but what are your ideas??

FOR MUSICIANS ON THIS SITE:

A few years back on this list (quite a few will remember...Elson, Paulo,
etc.), there was a good-sized effort to create a compilation CD from artists
on this list. Lots of people were very excited and put in much effort to
get the thing rolling, but it fizzled (basically when the cost came into
play). It was sad- there is quite a bit of talent on the list, and it would
have been a really neat thing.

I've come up with a way that we can do this for free, get plenty of
promotion for the work, have CDs pressed and distributed for free, and not
limit any of the songs to a binding license...we could build a site on
MP3.com and promote it as a world-wide collaborative effort...we'd also be
easily able to divide up the profits from sales with an impartial method of
bookeeping

What do you all think?
