Hope all is well, yet another shamless plug for LOVERS of GREAT LIVE MUSIC!!
Joyous Shout! is proud to announce that legendary jazz drummer and bandleader
Chico Hamilton will be performing with his "Euphoria"group, featuring Eric Person on
saxes, Cary DeNigris on guitar, and Paul Ramsey on bass, in a benefit performance
for WPBX-FM Radio on August 29th at the Wild Rose Cafe, 203 Sag Harbor Turnpike,
Bridgehampton, NY 11932 tel. 516.537.5050 with two sets at 7:30 PM & 10 PM. This
appearance comes hot on the heals of Chico¹s Summer performances at the Bird Of
Paradise in Ann Arbor, MI, the Erie Art Museum Blues & JAzz Festival in Erie, PA, Guild
Hall in East Hapmton, NY, on the 1999 Bell Atlantic Jazz Festival and after more SOLD
OUT performances by Chico and his ³Euphoria² group in March at Birdland in NYC and
back in December on the ³Jazz Live!² series from Flushing Town Hall in NYC. January ¹99
kicked off with Chico and his "Euphoria" group performing on the "Jazz En El Tambo"
Festival in Uruguay, and on the 35th Anniversary Celebration at the Whiskey A Go Go in
LA. Bringing March to an exciting close found Chico recording his first album as part of a
new multi year recording contract with Wild Pitch¹s All Points Jazz label (entitled ³Timely²
with a street date of October 26th). We are especially proud to announce that Chico received
the Mannes New School "Beacons of Jazz" award on June 7th, in recognition for his "significant
contribution to the evolution of jazz."
