A little clarification here. BRAZILIAN THOROUGHFARE is the U.S. version of
GLUCKLICH I, with a resequenced track order. BOTH GLUCKLICH I and II are
comprised of old tracks, while GLUCKLICH III contains both new AND old
material.

Bossa nova is a style that developed in the late 50's, combining the
rhythms of samba with "cool jazz" influences. Perhaps the greatest bossa
nova artist was Antonio Carlos Jobim, who penned many classics including
"Girl from Ipanema," "Desafinado," "One Note Samba," etc. Bossa nova was
very popular for about a decade, before being eclipsed by the tropicalia
movement of the late 60's.
