Album of the Week: NORTHERN SULPHURIC SOUL by Rae and Christian.
The debut album from Mancunians (Love that word!) Mark Rae and
Steve Christian, released on their own Grand Central label in
the UK, and via Smile Communications in the US. A melting pot
of soul, hip hop, and turntablism, featuring guest vocals by Jeru
the Damaja, Jungle Brothers, and others. As an added bonus,
this week's "Jazzadelica" includes a one-hour retrospective of
Grand Central tracks.
