A friend of mine in Seattle just sent me the Josh
Davis (DJ Shadow) and Keb Darge compilation on Barely
Breaking Even, "Funk Spectrum: Real Funk For Real
People." I think this was talked about before.
Very slammin'. Old, dusty funk strictly from 45s
and strictly from small local bands from the 60s and
70s. It's been a nice change of pace for me, since
I've mainly be pumpin' The Herbaliser and some other
hip-hop I tapped off Atlanta's The Breaks show. Check
it out.
