public transit recordings presents....

MetroPass

A 12 inch vinyl 4 track EP follow up to the widely popular CD compilation
Code 416 which featured local electronic urban music producers. After selling
over 600 code 416 CDs in the city we set our sights on a bigger
international audience. Presenting our talents on a DJ friendly format we are
capturing a prime moment to introduce ourselves internationally. With this
release we wish to expose our unique sounds and talents through internet
presence, college radio support, reviews, advertising and record release
events.

Four new tracks from artists featured on the code 416 CD compilation
presents a diverse yet connected sound. The wax bounces from Moonstarr's
beat infested bossa nova tribute to the Scarborough RT to Audix's electro hip
hop polyrhythms. While the next track Last Stop features Rosina's soothing
voice backed by Murr's dope transitional beats. The EP is topped off by the
innovative scratching and tight jungle programming of Genetic, as he plays
Hookey.

The wax has an underlying theme of public transportation as it relates to
the situation that exists for transit riders in our community. Being the only
city in North America that receives no funding from the government, our
transit system is degrading due to the onslaught and promotion of automobile
use. We intend to promote the use of Public Transit and encourage the idea
that community is better than individual transportation. So far we have been
successful by presenting ourselves through a collective sound and look
forward to telling our stories to a broader audience.
