Last night I saw Roy Ayers play at SOB's in NYC for the first time in about two years (and I used to be such a regular at his shows...). I am pleased to be able to report that the old funkmeister still rocks the crowd with fresher vibes and more energy than any of the countless acts that have covered, sampled or imitated him over the last ten years.

Went out this morning and bought Tribe Called Quest's Low End Theory on vinyl. I haven't heard this in ages. It has to be the greatest hip hop album ever recorded.

Does anyone have an opinion on Les Nubians? They were playing the album in my local coffee shop this morning and I was intrigued. Grateful for any information.

James

PS Can't help noticing the Welsh connection in the recent Tom Jones-JTQ, Shirley Bassey-Propellor Heads thread. Coming in the week of the first election to the new assembly this is truly a sign of the rebirth of a nation!
